Jeff serves on the Advisory Board of Exos Partners and assists the firm in the formation of our investment strategy. Jeff is currenlty a portfolio manager at the Principal Financial Group with primary responsibility for Principal's target-date funds. With assets totaling $17.6 billion as of the end of 2010, Principal LifeTime Funds are the fourth largest target-date fund offering in the industry. Previously, Jeff was at American Century Investment Management where he spent twenty two years in investment management and was responsible for $9 billion in client assets.
Jeff began his career as an Institutional Fixed Income salesman at Citibank. From there he moved to Benham Capital Management where he managed a variety of fixed income portfolios, and eventually managed the Fixed Income department. Following the merger of Benham and Twentieth Century, to become American Century, Jeff moved to the quantitative equity group where he managed the Equity Growth Fund. At the same time, he began developing the Asset Allocation team at American Century. He was responsible for the design and management of the Strategic Asset Allocation Funds, the Learning Quest 529 funds, and the Livestrong target date series of portfolios.
Jeff received his BA degree in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and earned his Masters of Management from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a holder of a Chartered Financial Analyst certification. When not managing money, Jeff is an avid triathlete having competed in 6 Ironman distance triathlons.
